Our Genesis & Mission

Dedicated to Uplifting Community Schools & Children in Chitwan

Saraswoti Kendra Nepal (SKN) was founded by distinguished educationist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Basanta Prasad Adhikari (PhD in Education). Having served as the principal of four renowned schools over a 42-year educational career, Dr. Adhikari observed that government community schools were severely under-resourced and marginalized children were falling through the cracks. In search of true social purpose, he mobilized the energetic youth and scholars of Chitwan to serve the community through SKN.

"Quality education is the foundation of an equitable society. By empowering community teachers, teaching children how to think rather than what to think, and mobilizing university youth as dedicated volunteers, we ensure no marginalized child is left behind." — Assoc. Prof. Dr. Basanta Prasad Adhikari, Founder & Chairman

Working in partnership with Dr. Cha-Hsuan Liu (Utrecht University, Netherlands), local government bodies, and 16 Tole councils, SKN operates a multi-dimensional vision: enhancing classroom pedagogy, motivating university youths as volunteer teachers, and preserving indigenous heritage.

The Sanskrit word Sara means "essence" and Swa means "self." Thus, Saraswoti means "the essence of the self." She removes all darkness of ignorance completely and clears obstacles to learning and wisdom.
"VIRILITER AGE"
Motto of Om Shanti Hub School: "Act with moral strength and courage."

Our project provides a loving atmosphere where students become intellectually enlightened, spiritually profound, emotionally balanced, socially committed, and morally responsible individuals capable of sustainable self-reliance.

Focus on Marginalized Communities: Dedicated outreach to children of indigenous Tharu, Tamang, and Chepang groups (historically forest-dwelling nomads who foraged wild yams, Githa, and Vakur), alongside Dalit (B.K., Damai, Pariyar) and low-income Madhesi settlements.
